Fun Fold Cards

Recently my husband and I went to a very popular card and gift store, yes, we did.  We actually purchased a few cards, yes, we did.  We spent a lot of money, yes, we did and it was for only five cards!  We both agreed that even though we purchased cards this time, the cards that I (sometimes we) make are so much better and personal.  The best part about our cards versus purchased cards are ours are handmade and it is less expensive for a much more quality item!  Isn't that why we share this wonderful hobby?  Yes, it is!

Well, I have to admit that I was inspired.  There was one specific card was very interesting, so interesting that I decided to make it and the only difference is the size.  The card we purchased was 11" high and 5.5" wide when folded.  It was large with its own envelope, thank goodness!  Therefore, it is not my original design and I have no idea if there are any other people out in the card world who has made this fun fold card - but today, I'm going to say this is my "Fun Fold" card and you can make it too!

I have three short instructional videos to share with you.  Yes, they are short and really easy to follow.  I also have three different "Fun Fold" card's to share with you below the videos.

Card 1 of 3:

Extremely bright with very warm colors of oranges and different shades of pinks to burgundy.

Orange is the focused color in this card because it is our friend's most favorite color.

Lots of textures and sparkles galore!
Inside was only orange colors.

Papers: a huge assortment with glitter, patterns and textures.

Bring the Bling
The unique part of stamping this card are the flowers from the "Bring the Bling" set.  I bleached the flower and layered them on top of each other.  I added clear star Sakura Gelly Roll pen on the bleached dots to add the bling sparkles.

Card 2 of 3:

This card was made for my girlfriend to give to her girlfriend's daughter!  The theme of the baby shower are the colors of Smarties Candies, with emphasis on purple and "pink" especially.
I left the inside completely bland for her to write her very special message with the exception of the pattern paper.
I made a matching envelope and also lined it inside as well.

This card took longer to make because of all of the details.  There is a lot of layering and coloring.  I enjoyed every moment of it too! So relaxing and fun.

The following pictures will be pretty easy to understand because it is all about layering and cutting!

A couple more pictures so you can see the side view of the 2012
Nice and flat when folded and pops up terrific!
Close-up view
and now the final grouping of completed cards
I only made 14 cards and doing it in an assembly production was quite easy once I knew what my design was going to be.  I placed each card in a beige standard envelope (A2), weigh them each on my scale and they only needed one stamp!  These cards were flat when it all came down to folding them.  Amazing!

I hope you have enjoyed the three videos and the three different types of cards.  Most of all, I hope you have a very creative 2012 year filled with love, happiness and sharing.  Handmade cards always place a smile on the person who is lucky enough to receive one!  Keep Stamping and Smiling!
Sincerely,
